Remembering 9-11: In Moments of Crisis, Every Person Matters
Twenty-five years after September 11, we remember the lives lost and honor the extraordinary courage, service, and humanity New Yorkers showed one another in a time of profound crisis.
In doing so, we recommit ourselves to one of the most enduring lessons of that day: in moments of crisis, every person matters, every person must be accounted for, and every person deserves the support they need to remain safe.
It is highly fitting that as we observe this anniversary, we also recognize National Emergency Preparedness Month. At OPWDD we work every day, all year round, to build communities and emergency response systems that fully support people with developmental disabilities. Because in every crisis, and in every community, every person matters.
We will never forget.
